Link Substitute Schedule to Working Hours Schedule

Explanation

Use this activity to link substitute schedules to working hours schedules. The combination of, for example, a cycle schedule and a substitute schedule provides the total picture of the working days for a specific shift within the cycle schedule.

While it is possible to combine day-by-day schedules with substitute schedules, it is not often done since these schedules are both defined by the date. If you use a substitute schedule, it will override the day-by-day schedule. In other words, the functionality is the same in both types of schedules.

The substitute schedules are linked to the shifts present in the cycle schedule details. Each shift can have several substitute schedules linked to it. The priority between two substitutes found for the same shift is controlled by the Concurrent Date Priority field.

Prerequisites

Working hour schedules and substitute schedules must have been entered.

System Effects

The substitute schedule affects the calculation of time card information and the retrieval of current schedule information for an employee. The day type entered for an exception day in the substitute schedule will replace the ordinary day type entered in the working hours schedule cycle.
