Define Additional Information on Design Part

Explanation

This activity is used to define additional information, such as manufacturer, supplier, part no, type designation and dimension/quality, among others, on a design part.

Prerequisites

A design part should be created.

System Effects

• Additional information is stored on the design object.
• If a part number is added to a design part, a system prompt asks whether you want to create the part number as an inventory part. If you click Yes, the additional part later can be transferred along with the object to IFS/Equipment where it will become a spare part. If you click No, the additional part will not be transferred along with the object to IFS/Equipment and it will not be created as a spare part.

Procedure

1. Open the Design Part or Design Parts window.
2. Query for the design part for which you want to add additional information.
3. Use the List of Values in the fields for which you want to define information. (e.g., Part No, Manufacturer, Supplier)
4. Click Save.
