Enter or Modify Package Condition

Explanation

This activity is used when there is a requirement to record the condition of the packaging which contained the parts for repair.

It is often necessary to keep track of the package condition for repair parts received from a customer, as the packaging may have been damaged during transit which could then result in additional damage to the repair parts.

Alternatively, the same package may be used to return the repaired part, and often there is a need to provide evidence to the customer that the package was damaged on receipt and perhaps also had to be repaired or replaced at an additional cost.

You can specify a package condition for a component repair order line, as long as the line status is not Completed or Closed.

Procedure

  1. Open the Component Repair Order window and search for an existing component repair order.
  2. Click the Repair or Exchanges tab.
  3. In the Package Condition field, enter an appropriate package condition code or select one from the List of Values.
  4. Save the record.
