Register Accessories

Explanation

This activity is used to register any accessories delivered together with the part. Accessories could be a remote control, a power cable, or perhaps something really expensive that you must keep track of. It could also be a customer requirement that you should keep track of in terms of the quantity received as well as any acquisition value for the total received quantity. Accessories are always non-inventory parts and will not create any inventory transactions or records.

The accessory line is tied to a specific repair- or exchange line. Enter a description of the accessory, the planned quantity and a unit of measure.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, at least one repair- or exchange line must have been entered, since the accessory record is tied to a specific repair- or exchange line.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, an information line describing an accessory related to the repair- or exchange line is created.

Procedure

Register accessories from the repair- or exchange line:

  1. Open the Component Repair Order window
  2. Search for an existing component repair order.
  3. Click the Repairs or Exchanges tab and then click the Accessories sub tab.
  4. Select the line for which you want to record accessories.
  5. In the Accessories sub tab, create a new record.
  6. Enter a description of the accessory, define the planned quantity and specify a unit of measure.
  7. Save the record.

Register accessories from the receive order:

  1. Open the Component Repair Order window.
  2. Search for an existing component repair order.
  3. Select the repair- or exchange line to receive parts and record the accessory for, right-click, point to Receive Order Handling and then click Create. If a receive order is already created, click View.

Note:  It is only possible to use the receive orders for exchange lines with the Single exchange code.

  1. The CRO Material Receive Order window is opened.
  2. In the Accessories sub tab, create a new record.
  3. Enter a description of the accessory, define the planned quantity and specify a unit of measure.
  4. Save the record.
