Report Disposition Shop Order Operation - Component MRO

Explanation

This activity is used to report the time and quantity spent on a disposition shop order operation. This could either be time needed to set up an operation before the actual work begins or the time for the actual work.

You can report as many or as few steps as you desire, depending on the degree of detail planned in operation reporting. You can report more manufacturing or setup time than the default value. The status of the operation changes as you do the reporting.

If the operation is connected to a component line and that component line is not issued prior to reporting the operations, it will be issued using the backflush feature. If any of the components issued by the backflush feature is catch-unit-enabled, this activity can be performed only if the full quantity in the inventory part location is issued. If only a part of the quantity in an inventory location is issued, you will have to manually issue the components before reporting the operation.

Prerequisites

• The disposition line item should be in at least Released status.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• Depending on how you perform operations reporting, the status of the operation will change to Setup Started, Setup Completed, Partially Reported, or Closed.
• When reporting an operation as completed, the planned schedule of the operation will be reset so that the operation is released for another workload if the work center still has capacity.
• Material associated with the operation, and not have been issued, is issued automatically.
• Work In Process (WIP) transactions are created.

Procedure

1. Open the Disposition Shop Order window.
2. Click the Operations tab and study the operations.
3. Right-click in the header and the click Report.
4. The MRO Shop Order Operations Reporting/Operations tab opens.
5. Report one or several of the following for the operation line:
   • Specify the quantity of parts to report in Qty To Report.
   • How much time that is spent on machine setup in Mach Setup To Report.
   • How much time that is spent on manufacturing in Mach To Report or in Labor To Report.
   • How much time that is spent on labor setup in Labor Setup To Report.
6. Repeat for all operation lines.
7. Select one or several lines, right-click and then click Report Time.

Note: If a shop order control plan exists:

• But no control plan exists when the operation status changes to Closed, a message notifies you.
• But no analysis exists when the operation status changes to Closed, a message notifies you.
• And analyses exist but are not yet confirmed when the operation status changed to Closed, a message notifies you.
