Enter Preposting, Exchange Line

Explanation

This activity is used to enter preposting information to an exchange line.

Prerequisites

• Preposting must be allowed for exchange lines by adding the M248 posting type, Pre Accounting CRO Exchange Line in the Posting Control window.
• An exchange line must have been created.

System Effects

• The system establishes a relationship between the code part and the exchange line, by entering a preposting connected to the line.
• The code part values that are attached as a preposting in the exchange line will be transferred to the repair orders once the line is released.

Procedure

1. Open the Component Repair Order window.
2. Query for the component repair order.
3. Click the Exchanges tab.
4. Select the exchange line, right-click and then click Pre Posting.
5. Enter values for known code parts or click List to select code parts from the List of Values.
6. Click OK.
