A business object is a type of data in IFS Applications, i.e., a project, work order, invoice, supplier, engineering part, engineering part revision, etc. Some of these objects can have documents, approval routings, document requirements, change requests, change order actions, or characteristics connected. When an object can have such connections, the links to services (e.g. Documents, Approval Process and Characteristics) in the Attachment Panel are enabled.
In the Document Revision/Connect Objects tab, Document Revision/Objects tab, the Document Object Connections window or the Attachment Panel/Documents window you can create connections between a document revision and a business object. The business objects available will be listed in the Objects field in the appearing List of Values when inserting a new record in the windows.
When a document is connected to a business object, the access settings of the business object in combination with the group/person access of the document will make up the complete document access.
