Connect Process Action Document Types
Explanation
Use this activity to connect one or more document types to a document class
process action. This enables you to use the extended Electronic Document
Management (EDM) file features, such as checking out the multiple files attached
to the original file. For example, the original file is an AutoCAD drawing that
uses scanned and rasterized files (with extensions *.cal and *.cg4). The scanned
and rasterized files would be checked out with the original file as long as
their document types were defined and connected to the document class process
action.
Prerequisites
- At least one new document type must be defined.
- A process action header to which you can connect one or more document
types must be created. A process action header consists of document class, EDM
macro process (e.g., View), and a macro option (e.g., SelectAndRun).
System Effects
As a result of this activity, if multiple document types are defined, additional files may be checked out
with the original file.

Procedure
- Open the Document Class Process Action window.
- Query for the process action configuration to which you will add document
types.
- Click New to create a new row in the table.
- Enter a valid document type either manually or using the List of Values.
- Click Save.
