Define Process Action Header
Explanation
Use this activity to set up process actions for a document
class. You create one record for each document class and
process. The process action header monitors how the document
macros are processed for the selected document class and
header. For more information about object controlled document
access,
see Document Class
Process Action.
You can choose from the
following macro options:
- Select And Run - select to run the macro or not.
- Run If Only One - if there is only one macro, that macro will be
run automatically.
- No Macro - no macro present for the process.
You can also define how the files using the
process action header will be named:
- Default to original file name -the original file name will be the default and if the file has an original file name and is selected the user will be
asked to select the type of file naming, at the time of executing one of
the stated file operations.
- Default to document title and name -
the document title and name will be the default and if the file has an original file name and is selected the user will be
asked to select the type of file naming, at the time of executing one of
the stated file operations.
- Force document title and name - the user will not be prompted for a
selection, even if the file had an original name. The file will be named
using the standard document title and name.
- Force
original file name - the user will not be prompted for a selection. The
file will be named using the original name only if it had such a name.
Otherwise naming will fall back to document title and name.
After creating and saving a process action header you can connect one or more
document types to it. You define which document types will be checked in,
checked out, etc., when the user performs the selected action process on a
document of the same class as defined in the process action header.
Prerequisites
At least one document class must be configured in Basic Data.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a new document class process action header will be created, and you can then
connect one or more document types to it. This will affect the file operations
of the selected document class.
