Create Service Quotation from Business Opportunity Line

Explanation

This activity is used to create a service quotation for one or more lines on the business opportunity. You can do so by selecting the required line or lines in the Business Opportunity window and by right-clicking and clicking Create Service Quotation. The Create Service Quotation dialog box for updating information will be displayed.

Prerequisites

• The business opportunity must have the status Confirmed.
• The customer category should either be Customer or Prospect.

System Effects

A service quotation is created, using all available information on the business opportunity header and line. The status of the business opportunity is updated to In Progress. 

The selected opportunity lines will generate new service quotations. If the opportunity lines belong to different sites, one service quotation for each site will be created. A reference to the originating opportunity will be stored on the quotation.

Note: No service quotation lines will be created, only a sales quotation header. The service quotation can then be connected to one or more orders that make up the scope that is to be quoted.

Procedure
 

1. Display the business opportunity via the Populate or Query function, in the Business Opportunity window.
2. Right-click on the line and then click Create Sales Quotation. The Create Service Quotation dialog box is displayed.
3. Enter a description in the Quotation Desc field.
4. If needed, update delivery address and document address.
5. Enter suitable dates in the Request Receipt Date and Price Effective Date fields. The price effective date will be used to determine prices from customer agreements.
6. Optionally, enter values in the other fields.
7. Confirm by clicking OK.
