Define Access Control

Explanation

This activity is used to activate access control for the CRM and SRM object types. The activity is also used to list users who need to have access permission to all records for an object type.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this activity but it is recommended that the security settings for groups and users are defined before the access control is activated.

System Effects

When the access control is activated for an object, i.e. the Business Opportunity, the security settings will be considered for all business opportunities and users will get access according to these settings, When a new business opportunity is created, groups will be added to the Business Opportunity/Access tab accordingly.

Procedure

To activate access control:

  1. Open the Access window and populate or search for the required object type.
  2. Select the Activate Access Control check box to activate the access control.
  3. Save your changes.
     

To add users with access to all records:

  1. Click the table window, and then click New.
  2. Select the user.
  3. Specify the security settings for the user.
  4. Save your changes.
