Enter Configuration Category

Explanation

Use this activity to enter configuration categories for a specific configuration family.

Prerequisites

• IFS/Configuration Back Office and IFS/Configuration Characteristic must be installed.
• The configuration family and characteristics must be created.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, configuration categories are created and the created categories can be connected to the configuration characteristics of the family later.

Procedure

1. Open the Configuration Family window and query for your record.
2. Click the Config Category tab. You will see that a record exists with * as the Category ID. This record is created automatically when the configuration family is created.
3. Create a new record in the table and enter a Category ID and a Category Description.
4. Change the Display Sequence of the categories based on the order you would like them to be displayed during configuration.
5. Save the record.
6. To set any required category as Default, select the record, right-click and then click Set Default.
