Create Sales Rule Message

Explanation

This activity is used when you want to create a message for use in the configuration sales rules. Several messages can be created and stored in a library to be used in different sales rules. If the message is not connected to a configuration family, it is possible to use the message for different configuration families and part configuration revisions. If the message is created and connected to a configuration family, only the parts that are connected to the family can use the message. This message is displayed during configuration and it is launched from the sales rule validation at the first time that the specific condition is triggered.

It is possible to add language codes with country specific text that will be displayed during configuration. A message can consist of up to 2000 characters.

Procedure

1. Open the Sales Rule Message window.
2. Create a new message or edit an existing message.
• To create a new message, create a new record and enter a unique value in the Message ID field.
• To edit an existing message, query for the required message and edit the message text.
3. In the Config Family ID field, enter a value or click List to select one from the List of Values. Entering a value in this field is optional.
4. In the Message tab,  enter a required text based on what you need to display when the message is used and executed in a sales rule during configuration.
   Note: The text that you enter or edit can consist of up to 2000 alphanumeric characters.
5. Save the changes.

6. In the Message Translations table, create a new record.
7. In the Language Code field, enter a value or click List to select one from the List of Values.
8. In the Message field, enter a language specific message based on the specified language code.
9. Save the changes.
