Enter Characteristics Values for Tag

Explanation

A tag can have a technical specification, and you perform this activity to specify the technical values.

Prerequisites

• The tag must exist in Project Product/Tags.
• To enter characteristics values for a tag in Project Item Navigator/Tag Info, the tag must be connected to a project item (See Connect Tags to Project Items).

• Characteristics values exist for the tag.

Procedure

To enter characteristics values for a tag in Project Product/Tags, follow these steps:

1. Select the tag, and click the Attachments on task pane.
2. Select Characteristics.
3. Create a new record, and select a Technical Class (the List of Values is available).
4. Save.
5. The table will now populate with all the attributes defined for the selected technical class. When the Both button is pressed, both numeric and alphanumeric values are listed. To enter values for alphanumeric attributes, click the Alpha button, and enter the desired values. To enter values for numeric attributes, click the Numeric button, and enter the desired values.
6. Save.

To connect a document to a tag in Project Item Navigator/Tag Info, follow these steps:

1. In the graphical structure, select the item that is connected to the tag.
2. Select the Tag Info tab, and click the Attachments on task pane.
3. Follow steps 2 through 6 in the procedure above.
