Define Environmental Properties of a Substance

Explanation

This activity is used to register and maintain different substances that you want to use at different sites. In this activity you can obtain information on properties that are hazardous to the environment and health.

Prerequisites

• Details in the header area of the Substance window should be specified and saved.

System Effects

• The environmental properties of a substance will be defined. The substances can be connected to Part Specific Emissions, Work Center Emissions and Emissions per Supplier for Purchase Part.
• The Part Eco-footprint window displays the emission breakdown per substance.

Procedure

1. Open the Substance window and click the Environmental Properties tab.
2. Create a new record.
3. If you need to group the substances, in the Substance Group field, select a group from the list of values.
4. Click the required value on the Default Media Code list. Possible values are Air, Water, Waste, External Sewage Treatment, Product, Recycling, Soil, and Reuse.
5. Enter suitable values in other fields as necessary.
6. Save the record.
