Make Maintenance Aware

Explanation

Use this activity to set a serial part stored in inventory to Maintenance Aware, thereby making it possible to carry out maintenance tasks on serial parts which are not yet located in the facility. Such objects are moved to inventory, or delivered from IFS/Plant Design.

Prerequisites

• The Inventory Serial Tracking check box must be selected in Part for the particular part.
• Inventory part must be created and received in Inventory.
• A planner identity must exist in Inventory Basic Data.
• A unit must exist in Maintenance Basic Data/Units.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the you will be able to perform maintenance on parts in inventory.

Procedure

1. Open the Serial Maintenance Aware window.
2. Query for the part which you want to set as Maintenance Aware. 
3. Use one of the following methods to set the selected part to Maintenance Aware:

• Select the record, and enter a site in the Site field using the List of Values. Select the Maintenance Aware check box and save the information.
• Select the record, right-click and then click Make Maintenance Aware. The Make Maintenance Aware dialog box opens. Enter a site in the Site field, click List to select a suitable value. Click OK.
