Create Text Column

Explanation

Use this activity to create a text column in a column template. A text column is used for defining a column with a fixed text, e.g., a column with a percent (%) sign in all rows.

Prerequisites

Before creating a text column, you must have created, copied, or imported a column template.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to create a text column:

  1. Open Column Template and find the column template where you want to include a text column.
  2. Select Operations/New Column (or double-click on the row) and then Text Column as the type of column you want to create. This opens Text Column.
  3. Specify values for Column Name and Description.
  4. Enter a text in the Text field in the General tab. Mark the Visible box, if appropriate. Save the information.
  5. The Layout tab contains default values for how the column is presented in the report. You can change the values, if appropriate. Save the information.
  6. Use the Col. Order button in the Layout tab to change the column order, if appropriate. In the dialog box, mark the name of the column and then click either the Up or Down button. To start the printing of a column on a new line in the report, mark 'New Line' and click the Up button. Confirm the information.
