Activities

Adding/Removing Distribution groups

Select the root node of the distribution groups tree. Right-click and select Add new distribution Group. A new group will be added. You are set as the owner of this group.
It is possible to add new users and change the protection level of the newly created group. Also the name of the distribution group can be changed as well (in the tree structure).
In the context menu of each group an option is available to remove the group. (Only the owner is allowed to remove a group).

Adding/Removing members to distribution groups

Members for the group can be added using the reference box at the centre of the right pane. You can select the members to add from the list of values and then click Add to Group. Then the selected users will be added to the group. By clicking the Add current user button the current user can be added to the group.

Users are added to the group once you click Add to group. Selecting them using the list of values alone will not add the users to the group. Users added to the group are shown in the list at the bottom.
You can also add members to the group by using the context menu.

In the context menu select Add user to group. From the list of values select the required users. In this case the selected members will be added directly to the group.

Delete user from group option allows you to remove users from the group.
Note: when editing or adding users to an existing distribution group, the actions are governed by the Protection level of that group. (explained below)

Access Protection

Three Access protection levels are defined for Distribution groups to control the distribution of reports. Each Group has an access protection level assigned for it. Depending on the access protection level the actions the current user can take as well as the information displayed to him will differ. The access protection level is set by the owner of the group.

For all groups the access protection and the description etc can be changed only by the group owner.
