Connect User To Authority Class
Explanation
Use this activity to connect a user to an authority class.
The authority class with the identity MAX is default when a new company is created. A
special type of user, such as the application owner, is connected to this authority class.
Prerequisites
Before a user can be connected to an authority class, the following must have been
completed:
- The authority class must have been entered in
Authority Classes
in
IFS/General Ledger.
- The user must have logged in as the application owner.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the user either is allowed or not allowed to view general
ledger information. This is controlled by the authority combinations that are defined for
the authority class.

Procedure
Use the following procedure to enter user information per authority class:
- Open User per Authority Class and find the users or authorization classes.
- Use the New function to enter a new user for an authorization class. Use
the List of Values in the User ID field and select the user to be entered. Use the List of
Values in the Authority Class field and select the authorization class to which this user
is to belong. Users can belong to only one authorization class, but each authorization
class can have multiple users linked to it.
- Save when completed.
