Define Competency Group
Explanation
This activity is used to define
Competency Groups. Competencies can be classified into groups, such as Technical, General,
Administrative, Cultural, and Professional Qualities. You are free to define as many
levels of groups as necessary. In competence group you define which competency elements
the competence group consists of and the scale to use. The competency elements with their
leveling scales are used in gap analysis and matching.
It is also possible to move one group
into another group and to enlarge an element to become a group.

There are no prerequisites.
System Effects
If the Public check box is
selected, the specified Competency Group will be published in the IFS Webkit. If
the box is cleared, it identifies that the specified Competency Group is not
published in the web application.

Procedure

Open the Competency Groups window and add a new record.

In the Competency Group field, enter the identifier of a competency
group.

In the Competency Group Description field, you have an option to
write a name or description for the competency group.

In the Parent Competency Group field, you can enter a parent
competency group. That way you can create a hierarchical competency
structure. To do so, you already need to have at least one other competency
group defined.

The Valid check box will be automatically selected, it will make the
competency active and visible in other parts of the system that are using
competency groups.

You can select the Public check box to publish the competency group
in the Competence Finder.

You can select the External check box to make the competency group
available outside of the company. That way, applicants using the external
web recruitment client will be able to see the competency gropu when they
apply for a job.
