Define Resources

Explanation

Use this activity to define different resources in a work center. When you register a work center, a resource with the same name as the work center is defined automatically. You can create records for multiple resources in the same work center, for example several different machines within the center.

This activity has the following prerequisite:

• A work center must have been created.

Procedure

1. Open the Work Center window.
2. Populate, or query for the work center of your choice. In the Work Center combo box, select the work center for which you want to define a resource.
3. Click the Resource tab.
4. Click New.
5. Using no more than 5 alphanumeric characters, enter a short code in the Resource ID field, and a description of the resource in the Description field.
6. In the Object ID field, specify the object in IFS Maintenance to which the resource corresponds. Click List of Values to select from available objects. This field is optional.
7. Specify the validity range of the resource in the Start Date column. If desired, specify an end date in the End Date column. Note that you do not need to specify an end date.
8. Specify the efficiency of the resource in the Efficiency column. This is expressed in percent, with 100 percent as the default.
9. Save the record (F12).
