Reserve Requisition Manually

Explanation

In Material Requisition, select the Reserve Manually option to reserve the desired quantity of parts from a specific inventory location. Note that only one requisition line at a time can be reserved manually.

The Rem Qty to Res field of the Manual Reservation dialog box shows how many parts remain to be reserved. The lower part of the dialog box shows all the inventory locations where the part is stocked and the available quantity at each. In the Reserve Quantity field for the appropriate inventory location, specify how many parts to be reserved. Confirm the reservation by clicking on OK.

You can use the Reserve option if you do not want to reserve from a specific inventory.

You can also remove a reservation by entering a negative quantity in the Reserve Qty field.

Parts may become available for reservation from standard inventory or project inventory; this depends on the supply code, and whether or not the line is connected to a project activity:

The parts are reserved and the requisition line status is updated from Released to Reserved. You can see how many parts are reserved in the Qty Reserved column.

Procedure

  1. Populate or query for the appropriate material requisition.
  2. Select the requisition line that you want to reserve manually.
  3. Select the Reserve Manually function in the Operations menu. The Manual Reservation dialog box opens up.
  4. In the line for the proper inventory location, enter the quantity that you want to reserve in the Reserve Qty field. You can see the quantity to be reserved in the Rem Qty to Res field.
  5. Confirm the reservations by clicking OK.
