Connect Individuals to FA Object

Explanation

Use this activity when you want to connect an individual to a fixed asset object (FA object) in a fixed asset rotable part pool. Alternate inventory parts individuals to the primary part number (defined in the header section of the Rotable Part Pool window) can also be connected to a fixed asset object. This will generate inventory transactions, as the individual will be transformed to a fixed asset object from a financial point of view. The acquisition value of the fixed asset object will be the previous inventory value of the individual.

Prerequisites

• The value in the Pool Diff Qty field must be greater than zero (0).
• The primary part number defined in the header section of the Rotable Part Pool window must exist as a serial-tracked inventory part at the sites selected in Sites tab in the Rotable Part Pool window.
• The inventory valuation method for the inventory part must be Standard Cost, the inventory part cost level must be Cost per Serial, and the zero cost control must be Zero Cost Allowed.
• The inventory part must be in stock and the ownership must be specified as Company Owned.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, an individual is connected to an FA object in a fixed asset rotable part pool. Inventory transactions will be generated. The Part Connection Established field in the FA Objects tab will be updated to Part Connection Established.

Procedure

1. In the FA Objects tab, right-click and click Connect Individual to open the Connect Individual to FA Object window.
2. Select the Connect Individual check box to select a specific individual.
3. Click OK to connect the selected individual to the fixed asset object in the fixed asset rotable pool.
