Start Simulation Client

Explanation

Use this activity to start the simulation client. The simulation client allows you to simulate sequencing operations without affecting the shop schedule.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that a site connected to a Scheduling Server exists.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the system creates a simulated sequence of operations.

Procedure

  1. Open the Simulation Client dialog box.
  2. In the Site field, select for which site to simulate scheduling operations. Click List to select from the available sites.
  3. Specify whether the system should first update the material availability profile.
    Note: Lead time information and supply information of all shop orders or interim orders connected with Finite and Always Finite material for the site will be updated in the CBS server. Infinite material will not be removed at this point. It will happen only when the CBS server is restarted again.
  4. Specify whether the system should first update the project information.
    Note: Information in the Project window and Activity window Show Content tab, will be updated by clicking on the Refresh Project Information check box. EPST and LPST will be updated each time when the data is reloaded.
  5. Click OK. This will start simulation client.
  6. Simulate the order of different operations by using the drag and drop feature.
    Note: Once the simulation client is loaded, if needed you can switch to scheduling mode using File menu Set Application run mode and selecting Switch to Simulation Mode option.
