Adjust and Verify Background Job for Calculations of Fault Deferrals

Explanation

This activity is used to verify the calculated task dates as to when deferred faults are run after they have been approved. You can also use this activity to adjust the execution time of the background job (For more information, refer the online help file: Using Background Jobs). At installation, the server process for due calculations for deferred faults is set (by default) to execute each day at 8:00 P.M. The background job can also be executed manually for a specific fault.

Open Deferred Faults

Procedure

Follow this procedure to verify calculated task dates:

  1. Open the Serial Operational Information window and query (F3) for your serial part.
  2. Click the Fault tab and then click the Additional sub-tab.
  3. In the Fault Number list, select the fault number you want.
  4. The calculated due date for the deferred fault is displayed in the Task Date field. In order to perform a manual calculation, right-click on the tab, and then click Recalculate Deferral.
