Adjust and Verify Background Job for the Calculation of Historical Average Values for Operational Parameters

Explanation

Use this activity to calculate historical average values. The calculated historical average value, is the average of both the old average value and the calculated value of the previous month for the operational parameter assigned to the serials of the selected maintenance group. 

You can also use this activity to adjust the execution time of the background job (For more information, refer the online help file: Using Background Jobs). At installation, the server process for the calculation of historical average values is set (by default) to execute the first day of each month at 6:00 P.M. The background job can also be executed manually with an operational parameter that is defined for a part and a maintenance group.

Prerequisites

Operational parameters must be defined for the part number and the maintenance group. For more information, refer the online help file: Activity Supply Operational Parameter Information.

System Effects

Historical average values are calculated and can be used as a basis for the next calculation.

Procedure

Follow this procedure to calculate historical average values: 

  1. Query (F3) for the desired part number and maintenance group.
  2. Click the Oper. Param per Maint Group tab.
  3. The Historical Avg Value field displays the calculated historical average values.
  4. To execute the calculation manually, select a row, right-click, and click Calc Average Value.
