Evaluate MS Result using Comparison of MS Sets

Explanation

This activity is used to compare two Master Schedule sets for a Level 0 or Level 1 part during the periods included in a selected period template and associated calendar.

Prerequisites

This activity requires the existence of a Level 0 or Level 1 part with forecast and supply data for more than one Master Schedule set.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system compares the two selected MS sets for the MS Level 1 part or MS Level 0 part as selected, for the periods within the selected period template (dates which have data from master schedule level will be shown). The results of this comparison appear in a table that includes the forecasts for the selected level 1 or level 0 part and its two user selected MS sets. In addition, the table contains columns that show the cumulative forecasts and supply along with the forecast and supply variances. This data helps you to analyze the differences between the forecasts and supply.

Procedure

  1. Open MS Set Comparison window. Select MS Level 1 or MS Level 0.(Default selection will be MS Level 1).
  2. Either search for a specific part or populate the window and select the part in the Part No list. Alternatively, enter a part number or use the List of Values. If you want to run a comparison of results for a project master scheduled part, search for the part with the relevant PNG.
  3. Change or accept the default values in the Site, From MS Set, and the Period Template ID fields.
  4. Enter a number or use the List of Values to enter a value in the To MS Set field.
  5. Click Compare. The system compares the two selected MS sets and displays the results either in the format of data or graph in the window. You can click the legend on the right hand side to unhide the data series selected.
  6. You can toggle the view in between the data table view and the graph view by using the tabs defined in the window.
