Define Period Unit Calendar

Explanation

Use this activity to define the period calendar to be used in the system. A record must be created for each period in a year for which planning is done. You can define the forward planning by different period units, which means that you can have daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly periods defined for the same year.

Procedure

  1. Open the Planning Period Units window.
  2. To create a calendar automatically, right-click and then click Create ISO Weeks.
  3. You also can create the periods manually by selecting New. The following steps are valid only if you decide to create the periods manually.
  4. In the Plan Year column, specify the year to which the period should belong.
  5. Enter a number for the period in the Plan Year Period No field. You also can provide a description for the period in the Plan Period Description field.
  6. In the Plan Period Unit list, select the unit corresponding to the period.
  7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 for each period you want to define.
  8. Save the record.
