Enter Rate by Period

Explanation

This activity is used to enter the rate by period. Rate by period can not be defined for project MS parts and the Rate by Period tab will be disabled if the part is connected to project PNG.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, an MS level 1 part must have been entered.

System Effects

• The rate by period values will be taken into consideration when the MS calculation is performed.
• The proposed MS supply will be generated based on the defined rate and time unit, if the net requirement is equal to or greater than the defined rate within the period's time unit.
• If the net requirement exceeds the defined rate within the period's time unit, the system will continue backwards in time to see if previous periods have free capacity until PTF is reached which is the rate by period’s lower boundary.

Procedure

1. Open the MS Level 1 Part window
2. Search for the required MS level 1 part record.
3. Click the Rate by Period tab and enter applicable values in the From Date, To Date, Rate and Unit fields.
4. Save the record.
