Calculate Cost per Structure/Routing

Explanation

Use this activity to calculate costs for different combinations of Manufacturing and/or Prototype structure and routing. The cost calculation for one level calculates costs for the part itself according to the structure and routing combination and accumulates the previously calculated costs for components. If components do not have costs in the cost set being calculated, it retrieves cost information from Cost Set 1 for the components, if any.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• Cost sets must have been defined.
• A Manufacturing and/or Prototype structure and routing must have been created.
• The part cost must have been calculated for components in order to get the latest costs for component parts.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• Costs will be calculated for the given combination of structure and routing.
• Routing cost type and part BOM cost records will be created for the part routing cost.

Procedure

To perform this activity in the Cost Build-Up per Structure/Routing window, follow these steps:

1. Open the Cost Build-Up per Structure/Routing window and create a new record.
2. In the Site field, click List and select the site for which you want to perform the cost calculation.
3. In the Part No field, click List and select the part for which the calculation should be performed.
4. In the Cost Set field, click List and select the cost set for which you want to perform the cost calculation.
5. In the Struct Rev field, click List and select the structure revision you want to perform the cost calculation.
6. In the Rout Rev field click List and select the routing revision you want to perform the cost calculation.
7. If you want to change the automatically fetched value in the Struct Alt/Rout Alt field, click List in the Struct Alt and Rout Alt fields and select the alternatives.
8. If you want to calculate the cost for a particular lot size, change the Lot Size which was automatically fetched from the Std Lot Size.
9. Save the record.
10. Click Calculate in order to calculate the cost for the given combination of structure and routing.
