Add Group
Explanation
Use this activity to add a new group to the configuration for the IFS/OPC
Client. A group is a
collection of one or more OPC items on which data is to be acquired. To
manage data for these OPC items, the group contains subscription
information for communication with BizAPIs as well as the subscription rate which is responsible for how often data should be
acquired from the OPC Server into the OPC client.
Prerequisites
An OPC Server must be established on the IFS/OPC Client.

A group is established on the IFS/OPC Client.

Procedure
- Click the File menu and click Open.
- Browse for and select the configuration XML file you saved on adding a
server.
- Click the New Group button in the OPC Client toolbar (alternatively
right click on an OPC Server in OPC Configuration pane and click New
Group).
- Click the OPC Parameters tab.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the group.
By default the first group will be named Group 1.
- In the Update Rate field, enter the rate at which you wish to
retrieve data from the OPC Server.
- Select the Activate check box.
(Alternatively you can right click on the group and click Activate)
- Click
OK.
- Click the
File Menu and click Save.
