This activity is used to create an ad hoc operational event for an already assigned serial.

Procedure

To manually create an ad hoc event in the Operational Planning/Assign Vehicles and Crew tab, follow the procedure described in the activity Assign Vehicles And/Or Crew. Alternatively, you can add an ad hoc event for an already assigned serial by using the Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant as explained below:

To create an ad hoc event for a specific serial in Serial Operational Information/Operational Event, start the Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant as follows:

  1. Open Serial Operational Information window, and query for your serial.
  2. Click the Operational Event tab.
  3. Right click in the upper tab, and select Create Ad Hoc Event.
  4. The Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant opens. 
  5. Continue with the Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant Step 1.

To create an ad hoc event for a specific operational plan in Operational Planning/Assign Vehicles and Crew, start the Create Ad Hoc Operational Event-assistant as follows:

  1. Open Operational Planning window, and query (F3) for your operational plan.
  2. Click the Assign Vehicles and Crew tab.
  3. In the upper table, select the serial for which you want to add a new ad hoc event.
  4. Right click and select Create Ad Hoc Event.
  5. The Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant opens. 
  6. Continue with the Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant Step 1.

Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant, Step 1 (enter general information about the operational event. You can subsequently revise your entries, except for the vehicle.):

  1. Enter a description of the operational event in the Event Desc field.
  2. Enter the planned start date and time and the planned finish date and time for the operational event in the Start/Finish fields.
  3. Enter the planned operational value for the operational event in the Planned Value field. The value should be given in the primary operational parameter for the serial, which is displayed to the right. 
  4. Enter any additional information regarding the operational event in the Remark field.
  5. Click Next 

Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant, Step 2 (connect the operational event to an operational plan. This step is optional):

  1. Enter an operational plan number in the Operational Plan field, if the operational event can be related to an existing operational plan. Click List to select a valid value. The operational plan ID is displayed in the next field.
  2. Enter an item number for the operational plan in the Item Number field. Note: that if you enter an operational plan item number, you also need to have entered an operational plan number. However, you can enter an operational plan without having to enter an operational plan item. Click List to select a valid value.
  3. Click Next 

Create Ad Hoc Operational Event assistant, Step 3 (assign personnel to the operational event. This step is optional. You can always assign personnel at a later point.):

  1. Click New to assign personnel.
  2. Enter an ID for the person assigned to the operational event in the Person Identity field. Click List to select a valid value.
  3. Click Finish to create the event.
