Define Fault Category

Explanation

Use this activity to define fault categories. Fault categories are used to categorize vehicle serial faults when registering the fault.

• Fault categories for faults that have occurred during operation or that are found during maintenance of a vehicle can be registered.

Procedure

1. Open the Operations and Fault Basic Data window and click the Fault Category tab.
2. Create a new record or query for an existing one.
3. In the Fault Category field, enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters for the short code that will be used in the system. Once saved, the field cannot be modified.
4. In the Fault Category Description field, enter or edit the description for the fault category.
5. Select the Include in PIREP Reports check box if you want faults with this fault category to be included in PIREP reports.
6. Select the Include in MIREP Reports check box if you want faults with this fault category to be included in MIREP reports.
7. Save the changes.
