Use this tab to manually attach shipment lines to a handling unit. This tab displays the quantity per shipment line that remains to be attached to handling units. If all shipment lines have been attached to handling units, no records will be shown in this tab.
It is possible to attach one or several lines to one handling unit and also change the quantity to attach per shipment line. When manually attaching shipment lines, it is possible to mix different part numbers within one handling unit and it is also optional to attach part reservation information to the handling unit. This would include attaching serials numbers and lot batch numbers to the different handling units created for the shipment.
More automatic options to perform packing of parts into handling unit can be done either using the handling unit capacity defined for a certain handling unit type or by applying and packing according to a packing instruction. It is possible to pack several unattached shipment lines using the same packing instruction. When performing a more automatic packing, there will only be one part number attached to the handling units on the lowest level while there might be a mix of reservation information like serial numbers or lot batch numbers.
The result of the packing can be seen on other tabs in the Shipment window and it is possible to modify the content of a handling unit or to move the handling unit within the handling unit structure.
