Enter Scrapping Event

Explanation

Use this activity to register a scrapping event. When new scrapping events are reported it is mandatory that a production event be connected to the new record. This connection is necessary in order to retrieve information on the product, quality, produced quantity and production date of the production unit you want.

Prerequisites

The production event to which the scrapping event is required to be connected must have been registered in the Produced Event window.

Procedure

  1. Open the Production Unit window for the production unit you want.
  2. Click Report Scrapping (found in the Actions area) to open the Scrapping Event window. If you already have this window open, click Create New on the toolbar to create a new scrapping event.
    Note:
    You can also open the Scrapping Event window by selecting the right mouse button option View Event for an existing scrapping event record in the Production Unit window.
  3. Enter the object for which the scrapping event is to be created in the Object ID field. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
  4. Click Find Production to get the production event to which this record is to be connected. The Find Production dialog box opens. Select the production unit you want and click OK to close the dialog box.
  5. The fields Produced, Produced Qty and Production Date are automatically populated with the product/quality, quantity and production date of the selected production unit.
  6. Enter the cause for the scrapping in the Loss Cause field. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
  7. Enter the amount of scrapped material in the Scrapped Qty field.
  8. Enter relevant information for the scrapping event in the Note field.
  9. Enter the ID of the user who registered the scrapping event in the Reported By field. When a value is entered in this field, the given user's default maintenance organization will be populated in the Maintenance Organization field. Note: You can change the default value in the Maintenance Organization field if necessary.
  10. You can also enter additional information, e.g., a unique ID, in the Tracking ID field. This is helpful when you want to easily identify and keep track of a particular scrapping event.
  11. Verify the information you have entered and then click Save and Exit.
