Enter Operations

Explanation

Use this activity to plan operations, craft and man hours for a separate standard job, or directly for a separate PM action. You can enter which craft is required, e.g., a mechanic to perform the action, and how many hours it will take. Then, you can enter the work description for each task and information such as: maintenance organization, planned hours, and tools (if any). The operation planning you do here is copied to the work orders that are generated from the PM action.

Prerequisites

Before the information is entered, the following must have been completed:

• Craft information must exist in IFS/Basic Data for Maintenance, Organization Basic Data.
• Current PM Action retrieved in the Operations tab, for a separate PM action.
• Current standard job retrieved in the Operations tab, for a separate standard job.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the cost for personnel on the work order will be calculated from the hourly rate and number of hours for the specified craft.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to enter the information:

1. Use the New function.
2. In the Operation No field, enter the order of the operations.
3. In the Craft field, use List of Values to specify the craft – or competency – that must perform the operation.
4. Save the information.
