Manage Job Program Revision
Explanation
Use this activity to create a new job program revision.
A job program with status Preliminary can be updated but once this
status is changed to Active, the job program is locked from editing. Two
options exist when this restrictions exist and both enables any changes on the
job program:
- Create a new revision
- Disable revision control
Disable/enable revision control could initially be set on per Site. All new
job programs will then inherit this setting, e.g. default disabled, if the site
is configured to have revision control disabled for job programs. The inherited
revision control setting from the site could also be individually changed on per
job program with a right-mouse option.
Prerequisites
- A job program must exist with status Active.
System Effects
- A new job program revision will be created with status Preliminary, including
the connections to standard jobs (if applicable).
- The new revision will receive the Preliminary
status.
- Revision control is disabled and enabled.

Create New Revision for Job Program
Procedure
- Open the
Job Program window, and query
for the job program for which you want to create the revision.
(Alternatively,
you can directly query for the revision itself.)
- Right-click on the header of the window and then click Create
New Revision. The Create New Revision for Job Program dialog box
opens.
- Enter an ID for the new revision in the New
Revision field.
- Click OK.
In order to do any changes on an active job program you need to either create
a new revision, as described above or disable revision control. This is how you
disable revision control:
- Open the
Job Program window,
and query for a job program with status Active.
- Right-click on the header window and then click Disable Revision
Control. This removes the check in check box Job Revision Control and
you are now allowed to do any changes.
- Right-click again and select Enable Revision Control and it's
back to it's original setting where changes are not allowed.
