Compare DOP Structures

Explanation

Use this activity to view the similarities or differences between two DOP structures. The different DOP structures are displayed simultaneously in a split window. You compare the whole structure at the time. The comparison is made concerning part number, level in DOP structure and quantity per assembly.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that DOP structures are created.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system enables you to view similarities and differences between two DOP structures.

Procedure

  1. In the Comparator group box, select the first DOP structure to be compared in the DOP ID list box.
  2. In the Comparatee group box, select the second DOP structure to be compared in the DOP ID list box.
  3. Click All to view all parts in both structures. You must compare the structures to see the differences.
  4. Click Equal to see all the parts that are identical in both structures. To qualify as identical, the parts must have the same part number, be on the same level and have the same quantities per assembly in the structures.
  5. Click Difference to see all the parts that differ between the structures, i.e., the parts that exist in one structure but not in the other. Some of the parts that are shown as different may be the same part but have different quantities per assembly or be on the difference level.
  6. Click Tree to see the results from the all, equal, or difference functions in a tree structure.
