Update Top Level Quantity

Explanation

This activity is used to update the revised quantity due on the top DOP Order (Dynamic Order Processing)  to be equal to the quantity due on the DOP Header. If the top DOP Order has supply orders, an option is available as to whether or not to automatically adjust the quantity of the supply orders. 

Prerequisites

This activity requires that a DOP structure is generated for a DOP Header.

System Effects

• The revised quantity due is updated on the DOP Order.
• Any existing quantity alarms due to a quantity mismatch between the quantity on the DOP Header and the revised quantity due on the (top level) DOP Order, are resolved.
• The quantity for the supply orders of the top DOP Order are automatically adjusted when specified or a quantity alarm is generated for the quantity mismatch between the DOP Order and the supply order.

Procedure

1. Select the DOP ID for which you want to update the quantity on the top DOP Order.
2. Right-click and then click Select Update Top Level Quantity.
3. If pegged supplies exist for the DOP top part, a message appears inquiring whether an automatic update for the supply should occur. If you choose not to update the quantity on the pegged order, a quantity alarm will be generated.
4. After updating the top level quantity, you can propagate the quantity change all the way down the structure by selecting the Propagate Quantity Upstream right mouse button option.
