Transfer Demand to Shop Order Requisition

Explanation

This activity is used to transfer an existing demand of a purchase requisition to a shop order requisition. This may occur when parts to be purchased before, are now to be manufactured instead.

Prerequisites

• A purchase requisition with a part requisition line must exist.
• A Plannable or Buildable structure must exist for the default alternative for the part.

System Effects

• A shop order requisition with the relevant information is created.
• The quantity transferred to the shop order requisition will be reduced from the purchase requisition. If the entire quantity is to be manufactured, the purchase requisition line will be removed.

Procedure

1. Open the Purchase Requisition window and query for the requisition you wish to transfer.
2. On the Part Requisition Lines tab, select the relevant line, right-click and then click Transfer Demand to Shop Order Requisition.
3. On the dialog box that appears, enter the quantity you wish to transfer.
4. Select the Set Requisition Type to Manual checkbox if you want the shop order requisition to be created with shop requisition type Manual instead of the suggested value displayed. This may be required, for example, to prevent automatic removal of the created shop order requisition when the next MRP is being run.
5. Click OK.
6. A message appears stating the shop order requisition number created. Click Yes to view it immediately.
