When working with resources available to multiple projects and project managers there is a possibility of resources being over-allocated. There are several methods available for verifying the allocation of resources:
Use Resource Capacity Calculation to get exact calculations for all resource usage in the projects specified.
Use the Resource Allocation window to look at the activity's usage compared to total usage during the activity's period.
Use Primavera Project Planner to do scheduling and/or resource leveling according to resource limits, but only for one project at a time.
The evaluation's main purpose is to uncover overload of resources, i.e., planning to use more resource capacity than is available. After the evaluation, you should try to remove the overloads, i.e., reschedule activities, assign more resources, or lengthen activities.
