Generate Role Assignments

Explanation

Use this activity to generate project role assignments to a specific project, sub project or activity and to assign persons to these project roles.

You can generate role assignments for a single project role that you have added or for all project roles in a project at the same time.

Project roles need to have been entered in the Project Roles tab of the Project window.

Role assignments are generated only for the project roles defined in the Project/Project Roles tab.
The role assignments corresponding to any project roles that were deleted in the Project Roles tab are also deleted.
Project roles of type Other are created at the top level of the project if they are new, but are not created again if they already exist anywhere in the project.

To generate the role assignment for a single project role in a project:

Open the Project window and query for the desired project.
Click the Project Roles tab.
Select a project role, right-click and then click Generate Role Assignments to generate assignments for the selected project role. You can click the Role Assignments tab to view the role assignments that have been generated.

To generate role assignments for all project roles in a project:

Open the Project window and query for the desired project.
Click the Role Assignments tab.
Right-click and then click Generate Role Assignments to generate assignments for all the project roles that have been defined for the project.
Refresh the information in the window to view the role assignments that have been generated.
