Register Project Time

Explanation

This activity is used to register project related time. The Week and Day tabs in the Project Time Registration window enables the choice of registering your time weekly or daily. The difference between the two tabs is that the Day tab includes extra options such as adding internal comments, invoice comments, add price adjustments etc. Using the Week tab will save you some time when you register time on the same report code several days in a row.

Note: If it is a multi-company project reporting transaction, the corresponding linked transaction will be created in the customer company. The Multi-Company Reporting check box will selected as well. If it is a reporting by a contractor, the Purchase Order Number and PO Line Ref columns will be populated after saving the record.

Project Time Registration

Procedure

  1. Open the Project Time Registration window and select either the Day or Week tab.
  2. Select the relevant dates.
  3. Query for the required employee.
  4. Create a new record to register project time.
  5. Enter the short name for the required activity or enter the project, subproject, activity and the report code.
  6. Enter the used hours.
  7. Save the record.
  8. The hours you entered will be connected to the Project Navigator/Connections tab as a project transaction. It will report actual hours to the project activity through the cost element that is based on the posting control type for project time.

If the reporting company has multi-company project reporting enabled, additional columns are available that can be used to select the customer company project activity and report codes. If you have an activity short name and the report code of the customer company, it is possible find the employee company activity using the List of Values for the customer company activity short name.

If the reporting company has enabled project reporting for contractors and the reporting user is a contractor then the Purchase Order Number and PO Line Ref columns will be available in the window. You can use the List of Values to select the related value in case there are more than one purchase order line connected to the employee for the reporting period. If not, the system will automatically select the correct purchase order number and the PO line ref based on the connection in the Contractors per Purchase Order window.
