Enter Language Description
Explanation
Use this activity to enter the part's description in other languages.
Prerequisites
This activity has the following prerequisites:
- A sales part, a non-inventory sales part, or a package part record must have been entered and
saved.
- The specified language must be allowed in the application. This is set in
IFS/Application, ISO Code
Usage.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The part description is available in the customer's language.
- This information can be printed on documents sent to the customer.

Procedure
- Open the appropriate window, and either populate or query for the desired sales part.
- Click the
Descriptions tab, then click
New.
- In the Language field, enter the short code of the desired language, either manually or by using the List of
Values.
- Enter the description of the part in the Description field, using the
selected language.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 if you want to enter the description in another
language.
- Optionally, you can enter a document text by selecting the line,
right-clicking, then clicking Document Text. You can select existing
messages, or enter text in any language. Click Save to attach the document
text to the language description. The Document Text check box indicates
whether or not a document is linked.
- Save the record.
