Use this dialog box to unlock a top serial and its structure that was locked. This dialog box can be opened from the Serial Structure Information/General tab or the Serials window. In this dialog box you can view all obsolete and unregistered maintenance programs for the serials in the selected serial structure. When the serials in a structure are locked, it is not possible to carry out any operations on the vehicle or on the serials in the structure.
If the top serial is locked when a new revision of the serial's maintenance program is activated, the previously connected maintenance program revision will become obsolete. In such instances, this dialog box can be used to update the serials in the structure with the currently valid maintenance program. There can also be serials in the structure that do not have a maintenance program defined at the time the serial was locked. If an active maintenance program is connected to the part revision of a locked serial, you must connect this maintenance program revision to the serial at the time the serial is being unlocked. This is necessary since it is required to have an active maintenance program revision connected to VIM serials, where the part revision and maintenance group of the serial is connected to a maintenance program. Note that before a serial can be unlocked all the serials in the structure must have an active maintenance program revision defined.
In the table of the dialog box, serials having obsolete maintenance programs and serials that have no maintenance programs connected will be displayed. Click Set Program to automatically update all serials having obsolete maintenance programs to the currently valid active maintenance program revision. You can also manually select a maintenance program revision by selecting a valid value from the List Of Values. All active maintenance programs to which the selected serial is connected will be displayed in the List Of Values. You must manually connect a valid maintenance program revision to the serials that had no maintenance programs defined at the time the serial was locked. When you click OK, the serials that are shown in this dialog box will be updated with the maintenance program information you entered and the serial and its belonging structure will be unlocked.
