Usage

Use this step of the Structure Changes assistant to enter detailed information for the required structure change.

The following changes can be performed for a serial structure: (1) replace a serial (2) remove a part or serial (3) install a serial (4) install a part (5) swap components (6) rob components. The availability of the fields in this assistant step is dependent on the type of structure change you choose.

If access control is established for the serial structure, you can only work with the serials to which you have been granted access. For more information on the structure changes and how access control affects the process, refer the online help file: About Structure Changes in IFS/VIM.

The values in the Top Part No and Top Serial No fields are not necessarily the topmost entry in the serial structure. These values represent the parent serial for the serial on which you choose to perform a structure change, for instance, when the structure change is either a Replacement or Removal, you will select a serial (that is to be replaced or removed) from the structure of the defined top part number and top serial number. For the other types of structure changes you can only work on the first level of the serial structure.
