Connect Operation to Tools and Facilities

Explanation

This activity is used to define the operation that is planned to utilize the tools and facilities. This activity is a must if the operation is to be scheduled using IFS/CBS.

Prerequisites

• The work order operations must be defined prior to connecting required tools and facilities to operations. The connection between a tool or facility and an operation is mandatory if the standard job will be connected to a work order that belongs to a VIM serial object.
• If IFS/CBS is used to schedule the operation a tool and facility will be assigned and the value in the From Date/Time and To Date/Time fields of the tools and facilities line will be be updated to that of the operation line when the status of the work order is changed to Prepared.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to connect operation to tools and facilities:

1. Select the Tools and Facilities tab and use the New function.
2. In the Tool/Facility Type field, use the List of Values to enter a tool or facility type. It is also possible to only enter a tool or facility ID. If that is the case use the List of Values in the Tool/Facility ID field and enter a tool or facility ID.
3. In the Quantity field, specify the quantity of the tool or facility that will be used for the work order (if known).  
4. In the Planned Hour field, specify the number of planned (if known).
5. In the Operation No field, use the List of Values to select an operation line number. Save the information.
