Connect Permit

Explanation

Use this activity to connect permits to a Separate or a Route work order. You can either connect an existing permit or create a new permit (that will be automatically connected to the work order).

Prerequisites

To connect existing permits:

• Permits must be defined in the Permit window.

To create and connect new permits

• Permit types must be defined in Work Order and PM Basic Data/Permit Types.

System Effects

• As a result of this activity, a permit is connected to a work order.
• If you chose to create a permit, the new permit will receive a unique sequence number and will be connected to the work order.

Procedure

To connect existing permits:

1. Open the Prepare Work Order or Report In Route window and click the Permits tab.
2. Right-click on the tab and click Connect Permit. The Connect Permit dialog box appears. 
3. Enter a value in the Permit Seq field. Click List to select a suitable value.
4. Click OK.

To create and connect a new permit:

1. Open the Prepare Work Order or Report In Route window and click the Permits tab.
2. Right-click on the tab and click Create Permit. The Create Permit dialog box appears.
3. Select a permit type from the available list and click OK.
