Create Repair Work Order for Serial Objects

Explanation

Use this activity to create a work order for a serial object that is to be moved from the facility to the workshop for repair. 

Prerequisites

Before a repair work order is created, the following must have been completed:

• The functional object (workshop) must exist in Functional Object.
• The serial object must have been marked as Inventory Serial Tracking and After Delivery Serial Tracking in Part
• The information on maintenance organizations and employees must exist in Organization Basic Data.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a work order with the Work Request status is created. When the information in New Repair Work Order for Serial Part is saved, the work order number is displayed in an message box. In Active Work Orders the Repair Work Order check box is selected for the work order.

Procedure

1. Open New Repair Work Order for Serial Part dialog box.
2. In the General area enter the object that is to be moved to the workshop and a site to which the object belongs in the Object ID and Site field. Click List to select suitable values.
3. In the Repair Workshop area, enter the object ID of the workshop and select a site to which the workshop belongs. Click List to select suitable values.
4. In the Work Order Information enter appropriate values in the Planned Finish, Directive, Maint. Org. and Reported by fields. Click List to select suitable values where appropriate.
5. Click OK.
