Enter Weighting Values

Explanation

This activity is used to enter weighting values for predefined weight criteria.

Weight criteria can be set up for the priority of the work order and the criticality of the equipment object that is connected to the work order. Weight criteria can also be set up for service contract types and will have an effect on the work orders that are connected to service contracts. For each weight criteria you can define the weighting values that will be used as an input for activity base value calculations. Since the weighting values will affect the base value of an activity, you need to enter the range of values allowed when entering weighting values per weight criteria. For each weight criteria you can define the weighting values that will be used as an input for activity base value calculations. Any criteria value for which a weighting value is not set, will have a default weighting of 1 in the calculation (i.e., it will not change the base value). Weighting values are summed, for example, if an order has 3 weightings relevant to it (from the priority, criticality and contract type), each with a value of 2, then the total weighting will be 8 (2 X 2 X 2).

System Effects

As a result of this activity, weighting values are entered for the weight criteria and will be input to activity base value calculations.
